A first place and runner-up will be awarded in each category. Two overall winners — the ABA Financial Marketing Excellence Award winner and runner-up — will be selected from these.

You can enter a campaign in as many categories as you see fit. If your retention campaign, for example, is also humorous, you can enter it in categories 3 and 7.

And since we have four asset classifications, you’ll only be competing with financial institutions your own size:

  • Less than $500 million
  • $500 million to $1 billion
  • $1 billion to $5 billion
  • More than $5 billion

How The Entries Will Be Judged

Every entry submitted will be held to a high standard of excellence by a panel of marketing, advertising and banking industry experts. Each will be scored for creativity, execution and fulfillment of stated objectives.

Eligibility

The ABA Financial Marketing Awards is the only competition strictly for financial marketers. All financial institutions — including banks, savings and loans, trust companies, savings banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms, investment firms and credit card companies — their advertising agencies and ABA service members are invited to compete.

Entries must have been published, printed or aired for the first time between January 1 and December 31, 2007. Annual reports from both 2006 and 2007 are eligible. Syndicated programs are not.

Rise Above The Competition In Denver

Denver, CO is the site of the annual ABA Financial Marketing Awards Show, to be held September 15 at 5:00 PM during the ABA Marketing Conference, September 14–16, 2008. Join industry colleagues to recognize those whose marketing efforts are setting creative standards for the financial services industry.

Finalist entries will be prominently displayed during the conference. Winners will be trumpeted in both local and national media, including ABA Bank Marketing magazine. And you’ll be asked to submit your winning entry in an electronic format to the ABA Marketing Network for posterity.

All winning entries will be recognized. Additional awards may be ordered.

Entry Checklist

It’s easy to enter. There’s nothing to mount and no dubs to pull. Just load everything onto a DVD using the following file formats:

  • QuickTime and Windows Media Player for TV
  • PDFs for print ads, direct mail, Internet, brochures, POP and annual reports
  • .wav files for radio
  • Annual Reports Only: We will accept hard copy annual reports. Please send 2 copies of your annual report. Please do not mount on boards.
